Melbourne Wedding & Bride Summer Expo 2022 – Event Promotion
Each year, the team at Web Marketing Angels eagerly awaits for details from UMG about plans for the Melbourne Wedding & Bride Summer Expo. Then we can begin creating the Event Promotion strategy.
And the Melbourne Wedding & Bride Summer Expo 2022 was no exception. When our long-time client gave us the green light to start advertising for Melbourne’s biggest bridal expo at its all-new location of the Melbourne Showgrounds, we sprang into action.
The date of United Media Group’s Wedding and Bride Expo, 16th January, was highlighted in all calendars across the WMA office. Then it was time to devise our promotional strategy for the event and set it in action.
We recognised UMG’s goal of reaching as many Melbourne brides-to-be as possible. Not just reach, but also to entice them to come see all the amazing exhibitors and competitions on offer at the Expo. Basing our promotional strategies off this and showcasing the wedding and bridal theme of the event, WMA constructed the event marketing plan.
Social media was a primary focus of our event promotion strategy. Statistics demonstrated that our target audience – those interested in attending a Melbourne Bridal Expo – mostly used Facebook, Instagram and Google. As a result, we aimed a significant amount of promotion here.
Our team created graphics that fit with UMG’s wishes and their Wedding and Bride theme. We then scheduled these to be posted out throughout the months leading up to the January event. The bold posts advertised the various exhibitors, features, competitions and offers of the Expo and contained a call to action. This encouraged viewers to book their free tickets from the Eventbrite page we created at the beginning of the event promotion.
Online advertising was critical for reach
Online advertisements were also crucial to our campaign. Not only through boosting posts and creating ads on social media, but we also used Google’s own online advertising service, Adwords, to push the event. With years of experience behind our team, we knew the tricks to make these methods of advertising most effective and managed to reach a significant audience. A larger audience was also reached through means of posting the event on online PR websites and Facebook bridal groups. Wedding & Bride’s own websites also became a primary vehicle, with competitions, features, and exhibitors frequently added to the site.
And the fun didn’t end online. Several of our WMA clients were exhibitors at the Expo and we provided them with printing and marketing support. This included banners and signs to highlight their brand. We loved talking to our clients in person, as well as building new connections with other fantastic exhibitors. Our team had a busy day chatting to suppliers, whilst taking many photos and videos of their beautiful stalls. Seeing all the displays of wedding cakes, cars, dresses, entertainment and much more fuelled our love of all things wedding!
We ran livestreams of the fashion parades on Facebook and Instagram. We also added to Wedding and Bride’s Expo stories on the social platforms and posted about the Expo’s incredible features.
